Due to the wide quality variation of military surplus ammo, due to its initial country of manufacture, subsequent storage, and age, Wise-Lite Arms and MarColMar Firearms LLC cannot warrant guns that have shot military surplus ammunition. However we know many of our customers wish to save money by using such ammo, so for those who still wish to shoot surplus ammo we regularly test types of 54r and headstamps and pass on the information to our customers. Since quality can vary even lot- to-lot, this testing is for informational purposes only, and should be used as a guide. The Semi-Auto PKM is warranted only with new, clean ammunition such as Wolf Gold.

While the '47 Russian ran fine when tested in the Semi-Auto PKM, the  same ammo in a semi-auto DP28 had two case failures within a 5 minute  period.  We cannot know if this was due to luck of the draw, or a  difference in the operating mechanism of the rifles or their chambers.
